an island of complexity

Sorry for not having been around lately... my last two weeks were horribly busy. First Amsterdam and then the Wedding, I'm still totally knackered from a constant lack of sleep. I desperately need a regeneration!

I promise, the pictures from Amsterdam and the Wedding will be coming soon. I just don't know yet how soon... I'm working on it!

That's why this won't be the longest post ever... just a though of the day.: that's so me! Sometimes, I don't even get myself - I'm just way to complex (that's why trying to be more stupid didn't work at all). At least, I know :) And I never want to be understood, I just want to be loved.

obsessed with pinterest

I'll be honest with you... actually, I always am. Quite scarry, now that I think of it ;) the thing I'm gonna be honest about today is an obsession, an addiction. Yes, I'm addicted - addicted to Pinterest.

I haven't spent a day lately (meaning the last 3 days) without being on Pinterest. This website/social network/internet service is just amazing. It's actually just a huge virtual pinboard, where you can collect things you love/like and follow friends that like the same things.

Pinterest is full of inspirations! Every day, I find like hundreds of things I like, ideas for a future home, diy and crafty stuff, travel inspirations, fashion pictures, great recipes and deco ideas... I could already do like fifty posts with thingsI found on Pinterest and which I would love to have/do!

But I'd better stopp swarming and drooling. Should you ever need an idea for anything: go there! And try not to spend to much time there... because I'm sure you'll get addicted just as quickly as I was. Very dangerous!

So back to my inspiration hunt - repin, repin repin!!!

P.S. Luckly, I'll be in Germany for the next four days and won't have a chance to go to the internet. Maybe that will help to break my pinterest-obsession.

P.P.S. Should you want to follow my obsession, you can do that here.

wedding card

I've been having the urge to do something creative for a while now. I wanted to "do it yourself" really really really badly... and along came an opportunity.

My boyfriend's parents have been a couple for over 30 years now but they were never married. And all of a sudden, they decided to do the "I Do"s. Of course that meant getting a suit for my love (gosh, men look so damn hot in suits), a dress for me (luckily I had one in my closet) and a wedding present with a congratulations card.

As his parents have never been to Switzerland - not alone Zürich - we decided to invite them to Zürich for their honeymoon: 2 nights in a cute Bed&Breakfast hotel in Zürich, a cruise on the lake of Zürich and a nice family dinner in one of Zürich's most famous restaurants. That's the present! And that was the easy part! We also had to have a wedding card and this is where my diy plans fit in. That was the fun part!

See the results for yourselves! How do you like it?
I really like it. And I'm looking forward to seeing the faces when they get the card/present... By the way, this wedding is the reason why I'll be out of town again from tomorrow afternoon till sunday afternoon. But you know: I'll be back!!!

Je t'aime Amsterdam

I'm back from our little trip to Amsterdam (as you hopefully all know by now)!  It wasn't the most summery journey I ever went on in July, but at least it didn't rain. And the gray and cold weather was actually a great excuse to buy a lovely parka/jacket from Scotch & Soda for the coming autumn. pictures will be coming soon!

Camping was - to my surprise - not unpleasant at all. Well, it was a rather luxurious camping experience though. Our tent wasn't too small, we had a very romantic double sleeping bag to cuddle up and we even had some cushions (yes, cushions!) and the sanitary facilites weren't too dirty. We actually never stayed long on the camping site and so the only thing we did in that tent was sleeping... all in all, I can proudly say that I survived camping and I actually liked it.

Of course, lots of photos will be following - we took what feels like thousands of pictures. But that's only because we liked it so much there. And I will have to tell you a story about a fascination manly fascination about everything nautical - unbelievalbe!
But for now be told that this certainly wasn't our last trip to Amsterdam :)
