Back from California

Oh my dear readers! I hope you had a great time while I was gone! I certrainly did :)

I don't want to bore you with stories about my holidays... and certainly, I don't wanna show you all the 2500 pictures we took of the beautiful places we visited in California. (Minus one point on my summer check list!)

I will soon enough feed you with recipes, fashion, beauty and other pictures again... but for now this short post will have to do.

love you guys!

cheer up!

The weather hasn't exactly been great these last few days... but that's about to change and I am really looking forward to these hot pre-summer days. And I am looking forward to some more cherry blossoms and magnolia blossoms.

So here a few pictures to cheer you up and prepare you for the days to come. More from me later this week when I have more time.

Back from the city that never sleeps

Two weeks are over and I'm finally back from New York! It was an absolutely amazing trip... My boyfriend and I enjoyed every minute of it and we came home with a bag not only full of new clothes but also full with many new experiences and even more interesting impressions.

We took more than 1300 pictures in the city that never sleeps... I'm sure you will see some of them soon here on my blog. But for now, you'll have to be satisfied with some "Hipstamatic-iPhone-pictures"-impressions:

Bye bye summery New York and hello autumnally Zürich! Tomorrow, normal life will start again...

Bikes & Boats (or Amsterdam Part 2)

Ships are the nearest things to dreams that hands have ever made.
Robert N. Rose
--------

At least, men seem to think so. They are utterly fascinated with boats & ships and everything nautical. I guess, they would all be living at sea if they could. Obviously, they have a very, very  romanticized view of a life at sea: only water in all directions, weeks and weeks of loneliness with only the calm sea as company, a huge wooden home moving only because of their musclular strength and their will and - best of all - no women in sight, no talking, no criticizing.

Yeah, all right. Dream on, guys! You're not Popeye the Sailorman and you never will be...

I guess they know it and that's why they seize every opportunity to dream about a life they will never have. As long as they take nice pictures that's fine with me *grin*
And I have to admit that I have been thinking about living a life as a pirate more than once... (but without Jack Sparrow that's only half as promising).

For those of you who are either not male or not into ships, I added some bikes :)

We may all have come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

and now for the bike-lovers:

Impressions (or Amsterdam Part 1)

I don't feel like talking/writing too much right now... that's why the pictures have so speak for themeselves. Which, I guess, they do. Amsterdam was just amazing, I would go there again anytime!

obsessed with pinterest

I'll be honest with you... actually, I always am. Quite scarry, now that I think of it ;) the thing I'm gonna be honest about today is an obsession, an addiction. Yes, I'm addicted - addicted to Pinterest.

I haven't spent a day lately (meaning the last 3 days) without being on Pinterest. This website/social network/internet service is just amazing. It's actually just a huge virtual pinboard, where you can collect things you love/like and follow friends that like the same things.

Pinterest is full of inspirations! Every day, I find like hundreds of things I like, ideas for a future home, diy and crafty stuff, travel inspirations, fashion pictures, great recipes and deco ideas... I could already do like fifty posts with thingsI found on Pinterest and which I would love to have/do!

But I'd better stopp swarming and drooling. Should you ever need an idea for anything: go there! And try not to spend to much time there... because I'm sure you'll get addicted just as quickly as I was. Very dangerous!

So back to my inspiration hunt - repin, repin repin!!!
xoxo linskaya

P.S. Luckly, I'll be in Germany for the next four days and won't have a chance to go to the internet. Maybe that will help to break my pinterest-obsession.

P.P.S. Should you want to follow my obsession, you can do that here.

family grill'n'chill

okay, after two days of heavy emotional ups and downs I am now ready to write again. this week's monday was just horrible... Do you know the kind of days where you just think you should have stayed in bed all day? Yes? Okay, my monday was exactly that kind of day... The only thing that helped then was ice cream and cuddling up with my boyfriend in bed.

Tuesday was a lot better! our team from work took a day off. well, we didn't exactly do nothing but at least not in the office... the Hotel Zürichberg where we stayed for the day was amazing. beautiful rooms and an breathtaking view over the lake of Zürich. It almost felt like a mini-holiday.

But the thing I want to talk about after these emotional ups and downs, is a very positive thing: we invited my parents, my brother and my grandma over to our place for a cozy family grill'n'chill. meat from the grill, a traditional bavarian patato-salad, mediterranean tomato-olive-bread and a cheese cake with fresh strawberries helped to make the evening just perfect.

Some impressions for you!

I simply love my family and it was great having them all here at our place enjoying themselves. I hope we will be repeating this soon.
