Stack it!

Do you remember the times when you used to weave and tie friendship bracelets? That's a questions only girls can answer I guess. I did so many friendship bracelets, I was almost a professional. Not that I would still be as good now... No! I tried to do one lately and it didn't turn out to be something I would like to show you *hihi*

That's why I show you all these other pictures of stacked bracelets, not all of them self-made obviously. But the combination is what does the magic.

Happy stacking!

arm charm

Ah, I need to stock up on jewellery... no, actually, that's a lie. I don't need to. I own plenty of beautiful pieces! It's just that I am kind of an addict.

An addict of jewellery.

An addict of shiny stuff.

An addict of accessories... of bags, shoes, dresses, and t-shirts.
But also an addict of chai tea, cappuccino, straciatella yoghurt, grapes, nail polish and freshly baked bread.

Better stop now!

Enjoy the sunny springtime weather (I need to get started on my tan) :)

Precious [or wanna have part VI]

Only today I realised that has been quite a while since I last some jewellery... not that I would need any. Oh gosh no! But who ever really needs jellewery? I am addicted to jewellery! I truly and sadly am... I own so many bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings, ankle chains, watches... I couldn't count them.

There are days when I don't even like to wear jewellery. Days when I feel freer and untroubled if I don't wear any... there were even days when I taking off all my jewellery was the first thing I did when I got home. There are days when I like to keep it simple. There are days I like to exaggerate. There are days when I just love to mix it all and wear various different bracelets and rings together.

It seems like in a gold rush at the moment, because I like golden jewellery a lot lately (as seen here and here). But I still like silver and other colours and materials as well. The four items above are just a selection of pieces that caught my eye recently.

golden beauty (or wanna have part IV)

'speech is silver - silence is golden'

I don't know what it is about gold watches that fascinates me. I used to think that gold watches are only for pimps and gangsters. Especially the big ones. When did I change my mind about that? I have no clue at all. All of a sudden, a golden wrist watch does not simply look good, but I really feel the strong need to have one!

But I keep thinking: are you sure? will you wear it? will it look good on you? is it really the watches that I like? or is simply the 'stacked' look?

I wish I knew the answer to all of these questions....  I wish I had a gold watch.... I wish I wish I wish...

self-made jewellery

Around this time of the year, I normally get out my knitting stuff. yeah, you heard right: knitting! If you don't know it yet: knitting is no longer considered old-fashioned, boring or granny-style. Knitting has a new urban and stylish image if nothing else because of the graffiti knitting movement (see here for some great examples).

But this post is not about knitting (I just wanted to make sure that you still think I'm cool *chrchr*). This year, I don't feel like knitting though - so I was looking for a new challenge. As I spend quite some time on Pinterest, I was inspired by the idea to make some easy diy-bracelets. After the first one (who turned out to look a bit clumsy), I really got addicted and made more and more of them in all sorts of colours, with different leather ribbons and special beads. Of course, I improved after the first few!

I could now tell you how to make them yourselves, but I won't. If you need a last-minute present or just like them enough to give one to yourself for no apparent reason (who needs a reason to make him-/herself a present anyway?!), I would be happy to give them away for a tiny contribution towards expenses. I'm even inclined to take orders and wishes as to what colour-combination you would like to have your bracelet in. I can even imagine making ones in different lenghts... so, be creative!

Just in case you should have severe sleeping problems because you don't know how to make them, you could still contact me and I'll gladly tell you. ;)

cutest rings ever! (or wanna have part I)

This is the first of many posts to follow about things that I either "wanna have" or that "inspire me". These super cute rings definitively fall under "wanna have"! I especially love the one on the bottom right corner... I found the picutre on Etsy in the shop of SmilingSilverSmith, who has many more cute and funny rings in her shop. Amazing idea! All the other pieces are from Pinterest, but I couldn't tell where you could get them (sorry).

I hope you like my new 'inspiration-series'... I do! :)

xoxo and have a great day - I'm somehow in a most blissful mood!

golden golden sunlight

Do you remember last wednesday? and me taking a day off last wednesday to go shopping on a rainy morning in completely empty stores? The memory of it still makes me blissfully happy... although it's raining outside as if the world were ending tonight. summer? no way! This post is about the jewellery I bought that day...

In my shopping basket landed two necklaces, a ring and a pair of earrings. It's funny, but all the pieces are in gold... not real gold, of course! Well, it's funny because normally I only like jewellery in silver. I simply think it suits me much better. I guess I changed my mind lately. I love my new pieces of golden jewellery! golden like the sunlight...

It would be hard to say which piece I like best. Every one possesses its own congeniality. The little golden bow ring is super cute, while the earrings bestow a hippie-touch upon every outfit. and the two necklaces: well, the owl is my new buddy, that much is for sure, and the acorn always reminds me of scratch from the ice age movies. that makes me smile...

okay, enough talking about jewellery!
